Record breaking competition for Oscars 2014

This year a record breaking 76 countries have sent their movies competing for the foreign language film category for the 86th Academy Awards.

Moldova and Saudi Arabia have made their debut this time while Montenegro are competing as an independent country for the very first time.

Starting from this year the Academy has changed its rule by allowing all voting members to vote on the shortlist.

The list of nominations will be out on January 16th 2014 while the Academy Awards will be held on 2nd March 2014. The venue for the ceremony will be Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
